Project details

CWA was engaged by Harmac Pacific (formerly Pope & Talbot) to upgrade the chip receiving, outstocking, reclaiming, and storage facilities at the pulp mill near Nanaimo, British Columbia. The upgrade provided Harmac Pacific with the flexibility to balance the ever-changing fibre supply on the coast and meet the mill’s chip consumption requirements.

Solutions

CWA provided the conceptual and detailed design of:

  • An 85-ton truck dump complete with chip outstocking and reclaim systems.
  • Reclaim chain conveyors.
  • Belt conveyors to the outstocking system.
  • An innovative new plow station for high-speed chip unloading.
